Continuous 12V-to-5V/3A Power Supply for CI Pad Active Holders.

The Power Source 12-5V/3A Always ON (RED) v2 is an alternative regulated step-down converter engineered specifically for CI Pad v1, v3, v4, and v4b active holders. Unlike standard auto-sensing power modules, this unit is always active and continuously draws and steps down voltage from the vehicle electrical system without requiring an automated turn-on voltage threshold.

Standard Carpe Iter auto-switching power supplies require charging circuit voltage to remain consistently above 13.5V under load to stay engaged. On certain motorcycles—particularly lightweight enduros, dual-sports with low-wattage stators, or bikes running heated gear and auxiliary lights—system voltage can dip below 13.5V at idle or low RPMs, causing the tablet to repeatedly start and stop charging. The Always ON (RED) v2 converter bypasses this limitation entirely, providing continuous, uninterrupted 5V charging current whenever power is supplied to its input.

CRITICAL WIRING & PARASITIC DRAIN WARNING

* Do NOT Wire Directly to Unswitched Battery Terminals: Because this converter has no auto-shutoff threshold, connecting it directly to the motorcycle battery will cause a constant parasitic drain. If left connected while charging a CI Pad with the engine stopped, it can completely deplete the motorcycle battery within a few hours.
* Keyed Ignition Installation: You must connect this converter to an ignition-switched auxiliary power circuit (ACC line, auxiliary power port, or relay). Ensure the target auxiliary circuit supports the converter’s current draw (consult your motorcycle service manual for circuit ratings).
